Viksit Bharat Run 2025

Celebrating Service, Partnership, and India–Sri Lanka Friendship

The High Commission of India, Colombo, jointly with the Indian Cultural Association, will organise the Viksit Bharat Run 2025 on 28th September at Galle Face Green, as part of Seva Pakhwada (17th September – 2nd October 2025), a fortnight dedicated to service, responsibility, and collective effort, during which activities are organised in India and abroad to promote social responsibility, civic participation, and community service.

2.     The Viksit Bharat Run 2025, the key highlight of this year’s Seva Pakhwada, is being organised in over 150 cities across the globe under the theme “Run to Serve the Nation.” Globally, the initiative commemorates the 75th birthday of the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. The 5 km run organised by the High Commission of India in Colombo on 28th September, as part of the global Viksit Bharat Run 2025 initiative, reinforces the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 (Developed India) while also celebrating and strengthening the deep-rooted bonds of friendship and goodwill between India and Sri Lanka.

3.     The event will feature a 5 km run from Galle Face Green, with the participation of Indian diaspora and Sri Lankan citizens in celebration of the enduring bonds of friendship between India and Sri Lanka. It will also include cultural performances of Indian music and dance, showcasing the cultural connections between the two nations and will highlight India’s development journey under the leadership of Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.

4.     We invite all members of the Indian diaspora, friends of India, and residents of Colombo to actively participate and spread the spirit of service.
