The Central Board of Excise & Customs has recently released a multi-lingual mobile Apps "Indian Customs - Guide to Travellers" to facilitate international passengers about Baggage Rules. While the English version of the app was launched early this year, the contents of the app are now available in Hindi and in three other regional languages.

The app, a first-of-its-kind mobile application, contains a ready reckoner of the customs baggage rules and entitlement of passengers coming from various countries. It contains 24X7 contact details of customs officers of major Airports. The application provides information to users as per their need. After installation of app on smart phones, it works in offline mode. The said app is available on all the three platforms-Android Play Store, Windows & Apple Store and serves as a Ready Reckoner of Customs Baggage Rules and Passenger Entitlements. According to CBEC, the multi-lingual capability of the app will be of immense use to the international passengers, especially those travelling from the Gulf countries, since all the customs is available in vernacular languages.
