The India-Sri Lanka Foundation (ISLF) was established pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of India with the objective of promoting greater understanding and cooperation between the people of the two countries.

With this objective in mind, the India-Sri Lanka Foundation invites applications for India-Sri Lanka Foundation Fellowship for one-year of Post Doctoral research in the field of Social Sciences (i.e., economics, political science and India-Sri Lanka relations).

Tenure of ISLF fellowship
One Year

Remuneration
The successful applicant will be provided one economy class return airfare and INR.50,000/- per month as stipend for a period of one year.

Eligibility for the ISLF fellowship Applicant
1. must be a Sri Lankan citizen
2. should have obtained admission at a reputed college/university in India for Post Doctoral research
3. shall be below 35 years of age.
4. should possess proficiency in English language.

Selection
All applications should include:-
1. A completed application form
2. Three letters of recommendation. At least one should be an academic reference. All letters of reference must be on letterhead.
3. Documents supporting the confirmation of admission at the College/University in India

Selection for the 2011/2012 fellowship award will be made by the Foundation’s selection committee and only short listed candidates will be called for interviews.

Report
Within four months of the end of fellowship award, India-Sri Lanka Foundation Fellow will be required to submit a comprehensive report on the subject of his/her fellowship.  The Foundation will reserve the right to make, whatever public use it chooses of the whole or part of any material contained in a Fellow’s report.
