International Students Day is organized every year to commemorate birth anniversary ofMaulana Abul KalamAzad, the first Education Minister of Independent India. This event aims to bring together all Sri Lankanstudents who have studied in India.
Sri Lanka is one of the most important partners in ITEC programme, launched nearly 50 years ago, as India’s bilateral programme of assistance. Over 200 training slots are allocated annually for capacity building & training in diverse areas like IT, English language, management, rural development, finance, mass communication, remote sensing etc.
High Commission of India cordially invites all the Sri Lankan alumni of Indian universities and ITECprogramme to attend this event.
Alumni members who wish to participate in this reception are requested to collect their invitations, after showing proof of their education in India, from High Commission of India, Colombo on any working day between 1400-1600 hrs till March 18, 2012.
