The fourth Annual Defence Dialogue (ADD) between India and Sri Lanka was held in Colombo on 3 November 2016.  Defence Secretary, Shri G. Mohan Kumar and the Sri Lankan Defence Secretary, Eng Karunasena Hettiarachchi co-chaired the meeting along with their delegations, comprising officers from the Defence Ministries, Foreign Affairs Ministries and the Armed Forces of both the countries. During the ADD, various ongoing defence cooperation initiatives were jointly reviewed and new avenues for cooperation identified. The regional security situation and issues of maritime security were also discussed at the meeting. 

Defence Secretary Shri Mohan Kumar and his delegation also called on  H.E. Maithripala Sirisena, President of Sri Lanka, on 03 November 2016. He also visited Trincomalee on 04 November 2016.
