The High Commissioner (designate) of India, H.E. Mr. Ashok K. Kantha, presented his credentials to H.E. President Mahinda Rajapaksa at 10.45 a.m. today at a ceremony held at the Presidential Secretariat.
A senior member of the Indian Foreign Service, Mr. Kantha was India’s High Commissioner to Malaysia before taking up his assignment in Colombo. He had earlier served as the Consul General of India in Hong Kong. He has also held key positions in Indian missions in Kathmandu, Beijing and Washington D.C. as well as in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi.
Mr. Kantha is married to Sharmila. They have one son.
