High Commission of India felicitates PMSD Officials
who underwent training in India
At a special event held today (13.3.2020) in Colombo, High Commission of India felicitated officials of Prime Minister Security Division (PMSD) who underwent training by Close Protection Force of the elite National Security Guard (NSG) in India from 17-29 February 2020. 21 PMSD officials were given extensive and exhaustive training in combat fitness and close protection/proximate security during the two weeks long course.
His Excellency Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was the Chief Guest at the event. Addressing the gathering, Acting High Commissioner Vinod K. Jacob highlighted the importance attached to cooperation in the security sphere between India and Sri Lanka, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR)’. Acting High Commissioner Jacob also underlined various capacity building programmes offered by India for Sri Lankan police and legal officers in diverse topics like de-radicalization, crime investigation, forensics, financial crimes, cyber – crime investigations, traffic management and industrial security.
