EdCIL - Indian Education Fair 2011, would poise the presence of quality Indian education for Sri Lankan student community

Placement is one of the core service of EdCIL (India) Limited. The objective is to place Foreign/Non-Resident Indians(NRIs)/Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) students in reputed Indian Institutions, recognized by the Regulatory Bodies, Government of India. EdCIL (India) Limited has been designated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India as the exclusive "Coordinating Agency and Single Window Facility" for the direct admission of eligible Foreign Nationals including Sri Lankan students /PIOs/NRIs to Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research programs. EdCIL places International/PIO/NRI students in more than 150 EdCIL\\\\\\'s associated / MoU institutions which have accreditations by regulatory bodies like UGC, NAAC, NBA, MCI etc.

EdCIL – Indian Education Fair 2011 is one stop shop for all the Sri Lankan, (NRIs)/(PIOs) students who are looking for the best higher educational opportunities in India. The fair is organized by the EdCIL India Limited (EdCIL), a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Human Resource Development and is supported by the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka with the aim of supporting Sri Lankan students with much needed assistance for their higher educational opportunities in India and also to encourage Education Institutes in India to carryout their operations in Sri Lanka. Mrs. Anju Banerjee, EdCIL’s Chairperson and Managing Director, Mr. I.S. Sidhu, Chief General Manager and Dr. Shaik Suleman Head-Placement & Secondment are participating in the fair to be organized as a ‘single country show’ with a large participation of direct representatives from more than 30 associated Indian Institutions.

As ‘Professional Exhibition Organizers’, Lanka Exhibition & Conference Services [LECS], a ‘Presidential Award Winning Company’, reaches another landmark on their journey towards success this year with the event ‘EdCIL – Indian Education Fair 2011’ opened for public from 13th to 15th May at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre at BMICH in Colombo. EdCIL Education Fair would be the largest event to be organized as a ‘single country show’ with a large participation of direct representatives from India, and furthermore with a continuation of a second-leg scheduled in Jaffna from 17th & 18th of May 2011.

The fair is organized by the EdCIL India Limited (EdCIL), a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Human Resource Development and is supported by the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka with the aim of supporting Sri Lankan students with much needed assistance for their higher educational opportunities in India and also to encourage EdCIL’s spectrum of services to be facilitated to the Government of Sri Lanka. EdCIL – Indian Education Fair 2011 is one stop shop for all the Sri Lankan, Non Resident Indians (NRIs) / Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) students who are interested to pursue various diploma, under graduate, post graduate and doctoral programmes in India in the disciplines of Engineering, Architecture, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Management, Science, Arts, Commerce, Agriculture, Teachers Training, Para-Medical, Nursing, Hotel Management and English Language Programme, etc.

The fair is being organized as a ‘single country show’ with a large participation of direct representatives from more than 35 associated Indian Institutions/universities. Being the only Nodal Agency of the Government of India, EdCIL directly deals with the various reputed Indian Universities/Institutions for placement of Sri Lankan students for pursuing various diplomas, under graduate, post graduate and doctoral programmes in India. With the immense support, encouragement and endorsement of Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka, EdCIL’s Indian Education Fair 2011 gains momentum as the first ever collective effort made in Sri Lanka to mark their presence by the Higher Education Institutes in India with a large participation for an event of this nature.
