PRESS RELEASE

e-OCI (Electronic Overseas Citizen of India) Card

The Government of India has introduced the e-OCI (Electronic Overseas Citizen of India) Card, a digital version of the OCI document aimed at making international travel simpler for OCI cardholders. Travellers will no longer need to carry the physical OCI booklet at all times. The e-OCI Card can be downloaded onto a mobile phone and shown, together with the passport, at Immigration Check Posts and to participating airlines. Your existing physical OCI Card remains valid.

Steps to download the e-OCI Card:

  1. Log in to the OCI Services Portal using your registered email ID and password.  If you haven’t registered yet, complete the registration using the email address provided during your OCI application.
  2. Click the e-OCI tab on you dashboard.
  3. Select Generate e-OCI Card next to your application.
  4. Download and securely save your e-OCI Card on your mobile device.

This initiative is intended to give OCI cardholders easier, more convenient access to their documentation while travelling.

If you’re an OCI Cardholder, download your e-OCI Card today and share this update with your family and friends.
