Distribution of Books and Stationery items for School Children

The High Commissioner of India H.E. Shri Alok Prasad handed over a consignment of books and stationery items for school children to Mr. K. Ganesh, Government Agent/ District Secretary, Jaffna District at a simple function at the High Commission on 2 April 2009.

The contribution of 2000 educational kits is in keeping with India’s continuing commitment to the welfare of internally displaced civilians, particularly children, in the overall context of human resources development. Apart from exercise books, each educational kit comprises writing implements, instrument box and other stationery items. In addition, children’s books covering subjects of general interest- history, literature, tradition & folklore, were also gifted.

Colombo
