16 Sri Lankan Health Professionals undergo Capacity Building Programme in India
At the request of the Government of Sri Lanka, a capacity building programme for 16 Sri Lankan Health Professionals, anchored by the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Noida from 10-16 March 2026.
- Based on specific requests from the Ministry of Health and Mass Media of the Government of Sri Lanka, the week-long customized programme featured a comprehensive set of technical sessions on subjects such as Health Education and Training Systems; Curriculum Design, Teaching Learning Methodologies, Assessment and Evaluation; Empowering Teams through Mentorship and Guidance; Effective Communication in Multi-disciplinary Healthcare Teams, among others.
- The programme was organised as part of the robust ongoing bilateral cooperation between India and Sri Lanka in the area of capacity development, further enhanced through the addition of 700 customized training slots annually for Sri Lankan professionals - over and above all existing schemes such as ITEC. The enhanced capacity-building framework was announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, during his visit to Sri Lanka in April 2025. With around 300 Sri Lanka civil service officers being training annually under a MoU between the National Centre for Good Governance of India and the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration, the enhanced capacity-building endeavour of India thus now benefits 1000 Sri Lankans annually.
