Inviting Applications for Scholarship for studying Hindi in India for the
Academic Session, 2026-27

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India is offeringscholarships to Sri Lankan nationals to study Hindi at the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan(Central Institute of Hindi), Agra, for the academic session 2026-2027.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. i. Applicants are required to have studied Hindi as a subject at G.C.E. A/L or have done beginner or intermediate courses in Hindi or any Hindi course conducted by Universities/Schools of Sri Lanka.
2. ii. The candidate must have a minimum written and oral proficiency in Hindi or/and English.
3. iii. The candidate must have basic skills in operating computer.
4. iv. The candidate must have a working E-mail ID. The minimum age for admission is 19 years and the maximum age limit is 45 years as on 01.04.2026
5. v. The academic year of the Institute runs from 1st of August 2026 to 30th of April 2027 (9 months course). 

Fully funded scholarship:

The selected candidates will be provided return airfare (economy class), stipend, hostel accommodationand an annual book grant.

9. Brochures and the application forms of the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan are enclosed, herewith; however, it can be downloaded from www.hindisansthan.in or collect onweekdays between 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.mfrom16/02/2026 to 27/2/2026 from the following offices:

10. The candidates are required to bring duly filled in application forms supported bynecessary documents and their certificates in original and present themselves foran interview in person at the time of submitting their applications between 10.00to 1.00 pmon 10March 2026 at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre(IndianCultural Centre) Colombo.

iii. The candidates from Kandy, Hambantota, and Jaffna, kindly submit yourapplication forms and attend the interview on the same day, 10th March 2026,at the respective offices mentioned above.
