  • Prof. Nayani Melegoda, Department of International Relations, Colombo University for developing an India Studies curriculum for the International Relations Department at the Colombo University and enhancing existing courses with the new knowledge on India studies.
  • Ms.Shayamani Hettiarachchi Senior lecturer, Department of Disability Studies, Faculty of Medicine, Ragama for Producing ‘Renaissance Practitioners’ in Audiology in Sri Lanka.
  • Inter Act Art to provide Airfare for two theatre teams from India to participate at the Colombo International Theatre Festival.
  • Under the distinguished Visitors Programme of the ISLF:
    • In principal approval to send Prof. Vasanthy Arasaratnam, The Vice- Chancellor of the University of Jaffna to visit Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore and to give a lecture on a suitable topic during August 2016.
    • In principal approval to invite Prof. Swapna Kumar Datta, Vice- Chancellor, Santiniketan as Chief Guest on the occasion of commemoration of the 155th Birth Anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore during July 2016 in Jaffna.
  • Airfare for 5 Sufi Scholars from Sri Lanka to attend the SAARC Sufi Festival in Diggi Palace, Jaipur during October 14-16, 2016.
  • University of Moratuwa, Department of Architecture, to conduct and exhibition and workshop on Vernacular Architecture.
  • Mrs. Vasugy Jegatheeswaran, Bharatha Natyam Dance Teacher at the Indian Cultural Centre, to produce a dance drama “Meenakshi Madurai”, the story of Goddess Madurai and showcase in Colombo.
  • Dr. Sarathchandra Kodikara, Director, Research and Development Unit, Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya, to improve its research performance through establishing a Visiting Professorship.
  • The Board approved economy airfare for 8 member group of Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation to showcase a heritage play “Space” in Sri Lanka.
  • Mr.Kandiah Neelakandan of Thiruketheeswaram Temple Restoration Society for reimbursement on conducting a special programme featuring Oodhuvar Mr.Karuppusamy Sargurunathan and Mr.Siva Rasapathy Odhuvar Tamil Nadu on Mahasivarathri Day March 7th 2016.
  • Dr.Selvy Thiruchchandran of Women’s Education and Research Centre for one year publication of the Research Journal “Nivedini”. 
  • Mahabodhi Society of Sri Lanka for an educational trip to India for 10 students and 2 teachers from Ananda Balika College, Maradana and Yoshida International School, Sapugaskanda.
  • Kaarunya Foundation to support three Folk art groups through provision of complete musical instruments in order to recommence their traditional living. 
  • Ms. Iroshana Sandaruwani Perera for organizing an exchange program and a performance at the Buddhist Festival, Gujarat by children of lower income families in collaboration with M.S.Panwar Institute, Gujarat.
  • The Board approved a proposal from Maharshi Arvind Foundation to organize Iinternational Convention of Peacemakers for Universal Harmony 2017”, in Badulla, Sri Lanka. 
  • Mr. Pradeep Gunarathne of Academy of Movement to conduct a workshop for students to learn traditional dance movement of Sri Lanka and to perform at Ladak.
  • Institute of Constitutional Studies Guarantee Limited to organize a lecture and workshop conducted by K.K.Venugopal, senior advocate in Colombo during May 2016. 
  • Theertha International Artists Collective to bring Indian Artists to Sri Lanka and to organize “Theertha Performance Art Platform – 2017” in Colombo.
  • Ms.Kamani Perera of Regional Centre for Strategic Studies for Airfare and local taxi fair to attend 5th international Library and Information Professional Summit 2016. 
  • The Board approved to provide a LED screen to display a documentary based on India for 15 hours during Vesak Week at Dalada Maligawa.
