President Sirisena attends ISA Founding Conference – India announces LoC of USD 100 million for solar projects in SL
President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena visited New Delhi from 10-11 March 2018 to attend the Founding Conference of the International Solar Alliance. Two solar power projects worth USD 100 million to be set up in Sri Lanka are among the 27 projects worth $1,392.48 million that will be taken up in 15 countries.

Workshop on GST held in Sri Lanka
An awareness workshop on Goods and Service Tax (GST) was organized by the High Commission of India. Officials from Government of Sri Lanka, trade chambers, industry people, attended the discussions which highlighted the fact that Sri Lankan exporters will now have access to hitherto unexplored markets of various states (provinces) in India, thanks to uniform rates of taxation all over India under the new GST Act.
