Government of India has launched Ayushman Bharat Scheme to provide medical cover to around 500 million people. Helathcare and Insurance industry has hailed this new initiative, calling it path breaking. 

 

 

The International Solar Alliance (ISA) Founding Conference and Solar Summit is due to be held in New Delhi on March 11. An invitation to grace the Conference, jointly signed by Prime Minister of India and President of France, was handed over to President Maithripala Sirisena by High Commissioner of India Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Ambassador of France Jean-Marin Schuh.

India, once projected to become the fifth largest manufacturer of automobiles, in the world by Forbes in 2030, has achieved this status in 2018, just four years after the Forbes report. The industry is now all set to release 50 affordable eco-friendly cars. 

Prime Minister Modi expressed his desire to take India Sri Lanka relationship to higher levels, in a statement extending warm felicitations to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the independence of Sri Lanka.

India International Textile Expo was organized by PDEXCIL from 21-23 February. Minister of Special Assignments Hon'ble Dr. Sarath Amunugama inaugurated the exhibition. In his speech Hon'ble Minister noted that Sri Lanka sourcing of textile material from India, and transforming it into apparel and garments for rest of the world, could lead to win-win situation for both the countries.
